Special Mystery Guest to Attend Holiday Luncheon

Come meet a very special “mystery guest” at the 2nd Annual Holiday Luncheon to benefit Heaven Can Wait Animal Society.  There is still time to get your ticket for the event on Sunday, December 12 at the M Resort.

All year long HCWS saves the lives of cats and dogs that have been abused, neglected and abandoned.  We care for their wounded bodies and try our best to rehabilitate them so they can be adopted into new “forever” homes. 

We bring their stories to you through our blog and newsletters, but guests at the Holiday Luncheon will have the opportunity to meet one of these exceptional animals.  She has been through a heartbreaking experience that nearly cost her life, but this remarkable dog miraculously overcame the tragedy that happened to her.

Shop For A Cause This Saturday

Come over to Macy’s at the Galleria Mall this Saturday from noon to 4pm for great bargains and to support Heaven Can Wait at the same time.  Buy a $5 coupon at the HCWS table in the store (HCWS gets to keep the $5) and receive 20% (or 10%) savings on almost all of your purchases at Macy’s (sales coupons are good until 10pm).  You’ll also be eligible to win a $500 gift card!

Bo & DeeMo Inaugural Event

Bo & DeeMo, designers of dog fashion for Bully Breeds, recently held their inaugural event – K9’s walking the catwalk for fashion and charity.   The company has adopted Heaven Can Wait Animal Society  as their charity.   

The red carpet event, held at Bio Tuscan Grille at Town Square, included 17 Bullies-Ambassadors and Lords & Ladies of the Court to King Mugsy and Queen Moxie modeling the Winter, Holiday and Spring fashion line from Bo & DeeMo.  The designs will soon be available in Nevada and California boutiques and online at BoandDeemo.com

Dee Mounts and Brandi Estes both have a love of Bully Breed dogs.  Together they started the clothing line to meet the needs of the strong build and stature of these dogs that make it challenging to find apparel that fits.  The couture line features luxury fabrics.

Dee and Brandi also kept in mind the many homeless pets in the Las Vegas valley and adopted HCWS as their animal rescue group.  Their goal is to donate 10 percent of their net sales.

VIP guests at the fashion show included KSNV Channel 3 Entertainment Reporter, Alicia Jacobs, the X Burlesque girls, the Men of X, and members of the HCWS Board of Directors.  The event was MC’d  by Jacobs and her beloved K9 Sparkles.  Mr. Tyson, the world famous skateboarding dog, Lulu the Frenchie and Lola Belle “Canine Correspondent” were among the K9 VIPs.

Bully Breed dogs include: English-French-American-Boston Bulldogs, Pugs, Boxers, Mastiffs, Bull Terriers and Pitbull Terriers.

Heaven Can Wait Animal Society’s 10th Annual Lose A Pound with Your Hound Memory Walk

Registration: 9am • Walk: 10am

High-tail it with your best friend to our 10th Annual Memory Walk featuring games, prizes, treats and a mile long walk lined with symbolic “collars” representing the 30,000 animals put to sleep every year in Las Vegas.

By joining us as a participate, Heaven Can Wait Society can continue promoting, responsible pet ownership, adopt out over 1,000 dogs and cats annually and fund our new low cost/no cost, state-of-the-art spay and neuter clinic.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR AN EVENING OF COMEDY!

Please join us for a special evening of comedy that will benefit the homeless cats and dogs in Las Vegas.  The Bonkerz Comedy Club is bringing Grandma Lee, from America’s Got Talent, to the Palace Station Hotel and Casino for one night to perform for all animal lovers.

The night of comedy will be Wednesday, August 11, at 8:30p.m.

Tickets are $19.95, plus tax and fees, with your Nevada ID.

$10 from every ticket sold at the door will be donated to HCWS.

Mark your calendars and plan to join us for this fun event!  Proceeds will help Heaven Can Wait Animal Society continue our aggressive spay and neuter program to stop pet overpopulation in our area.  HCWS has “fixed” more than 50,000 cats and dogs in Las Vegas.  Proceeds will also help HCWS continue to find “forever” homes for more than a 1,000 homeless pets each year.

Lose A Pound With Your Hound Memory Walk was a roaring success! The weather was wonderful and we had  an amazing turnout. We are so thankful to have such wonderful supporters. Thank you to everyone that helped make this event so successful We can’t wait to do it again next year!

Lose A Pound With Your Hound – This Sunday!

We are so excited that the walk is finally upon us! The T-Shirts are in, the goody bags are stuffed and it looks like the weather is going to be wonderful! If you haven’t already registered, now is the time! If you pre-register you will save time, money and ensure that you get one of our fantastic goody bags with over $100 of items in it!

If you have already registered, here are a couple of tips for you:

• Here is  a map to the event

• We have a family drop off spot right in front of registration off of Alexander Road. This should make parking with a family & dogs much easier.

• Please remember to bring lots of water and poop bags just in case. We will have water stations and poop bags available but it’s always good to be prepared.

• There will be food and refreshments available for sale throughout the event as well as complimentary coffee from It’s a Grind Coffee.

• We’ll also be selling brand new, hot off the presses HCWS merchandise just in time for fall so make sure you stop by the HCWS booth

Gimme Shelter was a Huge Success!

Jumpin' Jack Flash rocked Lake Las Vegas

On May 2, 2009, Heaven Can Wait Animal Society partnered with Lake Las Vegas and Monte Lago Village to host our inaugural benefit concert featuring Jumpin’ Jack Flash, a Rolling Stones tribute band that rocked the lake for nearly two hours. The energy of the evening was amazing and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. Hundreds of animal and music lovers partied the night away with a little help from our margarita stations, beer gardens and a variety of vendors who donated a plethora of prizes

All of the proceeds from Gimme Shelter went directly to our low cost, high volume spay and neuter clinic slated to open this summer. The Heaven Can Wait Spay and Neuter Clinic is the first of it’s kind in Las Vegas and will be crucial in bringing down the number of animals euthanized in shelters citywide.
